Pumpkin Growing
Growing pumpkins is fun indeed
But you must start with pumpkin seeds
Dig a hole in the soil to begin
Then place your seeds gently within.
Cover the seeds with dirt and great care
And hope the rain will soon be there,
To water down your seeds below
For sun and rain make pumpkins grow.
From underneath the seeds will sprout
And a little vine will wiggle out.
In time the vines will begin to spread
Across the ground like jam on bread.
‘Neath broad leaves the flowers bloom
Then little pumpkins will arrive there soon
Bigger they grow, these pumpkins green
Then, just in time for Halloween
The orange hue rises from the frosty field
These little seeds produce great yields.
Yet, before you carve your pumpkins’ face
Reflect a moment and remember this space
A great Jack-O-Lantern is where this story ends
But it all begins with seeds from within.
